The Department of Human Services has been building an analytics system (both from a cultural and technical perspective) to support the integration of health and human services programs and data around the improvement of individual health outcomes. This system relies on combining claims and health outcome data from all of the State of MN and Federal public medical assistance programs (Medicaid, Medicare, Minnesota Care….) with program utilization data from the other human services systems we oversee (such as the cash and food assistance programs, child protection and welfare, child care….). The goal is to have a health and human services system that is driven by analytics in order to improve service delivery, public accountability, and population outcomes.
